Madhya Pradesh - The Heart of India

Located in the central part of India , Madhya Pradesh hosts rich culture and diverse landscapes which includes rivers , mountains & thick green forests. The main river which flows through Madhya pradesh is Narmada. Interesting thing about the river is that , because of the direction of the river flow , one can observe sunset and sunrise in the same direction.  Places like kajuraho , orchha , Mandu reminds us of the rich history of the state. The Gwalior fort requires a special mention which encloses beautifully constructed structures.  The best time to visit Madhya pradesh is during winter , however keep in mind that the days in winter can be hot and dry. It is the offset ( september to october)  or onset monsoon season ( June to August ) which brings out the beauty of the hill stations in the state. There are a lot of backpaking hostels in most of the places . The train connectivity is little complicated as some of the places in the northern part are not connected well. The major railway junctions are Indore , Jhansi & Bhopal. People from south who wish to travel here have abundant train and flight options. Its the interior parts of MP that requires a bit of hopping over multiple stations.  This is a photo series that i have put together from my backpacking trip to Madhya Pradesh.
